The service

Popreel lets a group collaboratively create a short AI-generated celebration video. An organizer starts a project, friends join with an invite link, everyone can add characters and scenes, and the group cuts a sequence that we stitch into one video.

The product is still evolving. Features, models, and pricing can change. We'll keep the public site honest about how it works.

Accounts

You sign in with Google or an email magic link. Keep your inbox (and Google account) under your control — that's how access works.

One account can belong to many projects. You're responsible for what you do while signed in, including invites you share.

Age

You must be at least 18 to create an account and use Popreel.

Don't upload photos of children. We screen character reference photos and reject images that appear to show a minor on their own. Pets and adults are fine.

Your content

You keep whatever rights you already have in what you upload: character photos, inspiration images, audio, prompts, captions, and the way you cut the sequence.

You grant us a license to store, process, crop, generate from, render, and stream that content as needed to run the project — including showing it to other members of the same project.

You must have the right to use everything you upload, and permission from the people whose faces or voices you use. Roast your friends with their blessing. Don't impersonate someone to deceive others. Don't upload copyrighted stills or tracks you don't have rights to — especially in recreate-this-image mode.

AI generation

Character sheets, scene stills, scene clips, photo screening, and related steps are generated by third-party AI models through an API gateway. Outputs can be weird, inaccurate, or a poor likeness. That's the nature of the tools, not a defect you can charge back.

We strongly prefer zero-data-retention so providers are instructed not to train on your prompts and uploads, but we can't guarantee every model or step offers it.

You may use generated stills and videos for the celebration and for sharing that event. Don't use the service to produce illegal content, non-consensual intimate imagery, or material that exploits minors.

Projects, invites, and premiere links

Anyone with a project invite link can join after signing in. Share that link only with people you want in the project. Members can see characters, scenes, the sequence, and the budget.

A rendered video can be published to a view-only premiere link with a password. No account is required to watch. Anyone with the link and password can view it — treat the password like a secret, and change it in project settings if it leaks.

Wallet and payments

Generation is paid from your USD wallet. New accounts get a small starter balance. Anyone in a project can commit funds from their wallet; the project itself doesn't hold money. Unspent commitments stay with the person who funded them.

You buy wallet funds as prepaid top-up packs through Stripe. We never see your full card number. Published generation prices include a platform markup; the final render is a flat fee. Re-rendering an unchanged cut is free.

If a generation or render fails on our side, we refund that spend back to the wallet automatically. We don't refund successful output you simply don't like, and wallet purchases are otherwise non-refundable except where the law requires it.

Deleting your account does not cash out leftover wallet funds. Spend or ask us first if you need help.

Acceptable use

Don't use Popreel to:

• Upload or generate illegal content, or sexual content involving minors.
• Upload photos of children, or of adults who haven't agreed to be in the video.
• Harass, defame, or target people outside a consensual roast among friends.
• Probe, scrape, or overload the generators and APIs.
• Resell access, reverse-engineer the service, or bypass payment.

Our rights

We own the product, branding, preset tracks, and software. Generated clips are yours to use for the celebration as described above; we don't claim copyright in your finished film.

We can suspend or close accounts, remove content, or refuse generation that looks like it breaks these terms or the law. We can also change or discontinue features.

Closing your account

You can delete your account in Settings. That removes your login and profile. If you organized a project and others are still in it, organizer duties move to another member. If you were the only member, the project is archived.

Content in projects that continue under someone else stays with that project. Billing records may be kept as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

The service is provided as-is. AI output, uptime, and likeness are not guaranteed. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for amounts above what you paid us in the 12 months before a claim.

Some places don't allow those limits. In that case, they apply only as far as permitted. These terms don't limit liability we can't legally limit, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change. Keeping an account after an update means you accept the new terms. If you don't, delete your account.
